"One day the sun admitted, I am just a shadow. I wish I could show you the Infinite Incandescence that has cast my brilliant image! I wish I could show you, when you are lonely or in darkness, the Astonishing Light of your own Being!"

Even after all this time
The sun never says to the earth, "You owe Me." Look what happens with A love like that, It lights the Whole Sky.

It's a beautiful picture with a lovely poem. It is written on a wall in the Corcoran neighborhood of Minneapolis, Minnesota. I'm not sure if these poems are from Hafez. When I searched the web for them, I found they are from a book "The Gift" by Danieal Ladinskey. He believes that he offers interpretations of the poet Hafez, rather than translations which are not really true; therefore probably those above poems are not from Hafez. But anyway, it is an interesting project to write in this way on the walls and as an Iranian, it makes you proud to see the name of Hafez, somewhere in the West, even if those poems are not from him.
NOW THE QUESTION
Have you ever had such a patriotic feeling like Fatemeh had? if yes, when and where?

Hi there
Nice poem ! It ‘was absolutely thoughtful . Usually as weak human beings when we do some thing for some one , of course we will expect some thing in response or at least a thank you .one of morality of this poet is to remind us to keep helping and being kind with our community . I remember a little article in one of my English text book about small kindness and it ‘s miracle . If we suppose those kindness a bit odd to strangers at least we can do some thing with our friends , neighbours , colleagues , classmates and … . Speaking of the question : Being patriotic is some thing that I feel all the time . I ‘m proud of my old culture and my land . I never can think of being a citizen of another country . I don’t need to see an accomplishment to feel patriotic although it will made my feeling doubled . I know that some people will laugh on me or they might criticize me very hardly . I think we must not to give up , although there are lots of problems and shortages in our community . Finally I love my Iran and I ‘m proud of being an Iranian all the time
Cheers
